	<p>Heading into IPL 2021, Rajasthan Royals have made few shocking changes to their squad. They might be cursing themselves for releasing Ajinkya Rahane last season.</p>
<p>Right from the players to coaches, they are seeking a combination of both young and experienced teammates. The same thinking was reflected in their decision when they released the legendary Steve Smith and also, handed an important position to Kumar Sangakkara.</p>

<p><strong> Analysis of released players from the squad:</strong></p>

<p>1<strong>. Steve Smith</strong></p>
<p> It has happened only for the 5th time that management decided to release their captain. To some extent, it was an expected and logical decision as Smith’s performance in Twenty20 on Asian Soil was not up to the mark. He started well in IPL 2020, but he turned down his fortunes by choosing to move down the order.</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p><strong>2. Tom Curran</strong></p>
<p> This was a shocking decision as he was an ideal replacement of Ben Stokes (in case of his injury). Tom brings a lot of power down the order and also capable of completing his bowling quota of four overs.</p>

<p><strong>3. Oshane Thomas</strong></p>
<p> Oshane wasn’t given enough chances to play in IPL and might have done wonders for his team along with Jofra Archer.</p>

<p><strong>4. Robin Uthappa</strong></p>
<p>Traded to CSK this year; Royals didn’t provide him enough chances to build his confidence in IPL 2020. Rajasthan Royals traded him to Old Lions Club (CSK) where he might have to deliver under pressure for next two seasons to prove his capabilities.</p>

The fans remember the Australian team not only for their excellence in batting, bowling and fielding but also for their great leadership and management. It was not just their on-field performance but also their confidence off the field that helped the team to push the pressure towards the opponents. Their mind games tactics especially sledging was one of the mechanisms used to show their dominance in the game of cricket.</p>

<p>Things have changed a lot in cricket; the arrival of Twenty 20 changed the approach and temperament to play cricket. The Indian team has progressed a lot and moved up from there. The Indian Premier League played an important role to filter the best young talent of the country and were given the opportunity by the selectors to perform at international level. It also helped them to perform in pressure and in building a strong mindset to play multiple matches without getting tired.</p>

										<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>How difficult it is for every non-Mumbai Indians fan to watch Indian Premier League final every year without grief and without raising a question if IPL is indeed fixed?</p>
<p>In the past 8 years, Mumbai Indians has won the IPL title 5 times when the winning probability of every team is 1/8. Of course, this team is the best team on paper but isn’t Twenty-20 format the most unpredictable format of cricket? We know that mostly the best team wins in a test or a fifty over format but the chances are less in a Twenty-20 format in which a single delivery can change the outcome of a game. So why it is that every time Mumbai Indians emerges as victorious?</p>
<p>This year, the path was easy as the Mumbai Indians performed exceptionally well and remained at top throughout the tournament but that is not the case every year. In past, the team has struggled to reach to the top 4 but still ended up winning the tournament coming from nowhere!</p>
<p>We can’t forget the last year’s final, a closed neck to neck game with Chennai Super Kings which CSK lost due to an erroneous third umpire decision that took the wicket of MS Dhoni by a run-out which was not out as per the viewers who saw the replay from the television screen. Many such games have favoured the Mumbai Indians team more often than any other Indian Premier League franchise.</p>
<p>The team Mumbai Indians has so far won 5*200 million (1000 million) as the prize money which is quite less as compared to their investment in this league. The brand value of Mumbai Indians in 2019 was estimated to be of 8090 million which is huge as compared to their return of investment. So, we are hopeful to see more IPL Trophies coming to the Mumbai Indians franchise in future IPL finals otherwise why would a team spend so much when the return of their investment is not worthy enough?</p>

										<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>This year&#8217;s ICC Cricket World Cup is a bit different. It&#8217;s not only about rains ruining the matches but also about the length of the tournament.</p>
<p>When the England team destroyed the Afghanistan bowling line up in the recently concluded match of the World Cup, I blamed this new format for this. The question here is for how long a new team like Afghanistan would be humiliated in 2019 ICC Cricket World Cup? </p>
<p>This tournament is played in a round robin format where every team has to play against nine other teams. Due to this, the relatively weak teams like Afghanistan, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh have to play their matches against seven strong teams. If we think about the 4 or 5 cricket teams that are comparatively stronger than the rest, then they are also playing their matches against 5 or 6 weaker teams! That means, multiple records will be broken and we would be witnessing more boring matches in this Cricket World Cup. Also, thanks to non-ending English rains for that.</p>
<p>The ICC Cricket World Cup is supposed to be an interesting tournament where every match must be crucial for each team. Every game must be played as a knock-out match for cricket teams. </p>
<p>In the previous seasons, the competition had been quite intense where many weak teams like Kenya, Bangladesh knocked out strong teams from the tournament. This all happened due to the pool playing format where the competition was extremely tough. Every team in each match had the capability to knock out the other based on their day&#8217;s performance. This no longer will happen in this format. This Cricket World Cup, each team will continue to play until everyone becomes sure that they are better or weaker than then rest nine teams of the tournament. That sounds boring, Isn&#8217;t it?</p>
<p>Such a format (Round robin) works well in a T20 tournament where every game is unpredictable until the last ball is bowled. However, that doesn&#8217;t happen in 50 over matches. Here, few games are enough to decide which one is a better team and consistent to perform well. Then why there is a need to keep proving it again for n number of times? Also, the team which is weak, why they have to keep getting humiliated until everyone knows that they are actually the weakest in the tournament.</p>
<p>Below are the advantages and disadvantages of the round-robin format of ICC Cricket World Cup 2019:</p>
<p>Disadvantages:<br />
1. Long and boring tournament.<br />
2. No unpredictability in the tournament. All matches are not interesting and the tournament is becoming quite straight forward.<br />
3. Humiliating to the weaker teams to keep losing.</p>
<p>Advantages:<br />
1. Opportunity for cricket teams to play against every other team and gain exposure.<br />
2. Only the best teams are moved to the semifinals. No scope of others.<br />
3. Opportunity for teams to break more records.</p>

	<p>After losing three consecutive matches in IPL, Rajasthan Royals made three changes to bring back their team to winning track. Since the game against Kings XI Punjab was Rajasthan Royals last chance to stay in IPL tournament, they brought Ish Sodhi, leg-spinner from New Zealand by replacing Australian batsman D'Arcy Short.</p>
<p>Ish Sodhi who failed to attract any bids in IPL 2018 auction, was signed by Rajasthan Royals as an injury replacement to Afghanistan international Zahir Khan. Sodhi was picked up at his base price of INR 50 lakh. He reached the number one ranking for T20I bowlers in January 2018 and currently at number four position just after Rashid Khan, Shadab Khan and Yuzvendra Chahal.</p>
<p>On his IPL debut for Rajasthan Royals, against Kings XI Punjab in Jaipur, Ish Sodhi impressed everyone with his phenomenal bowling. The Punjab bowlers failed to understand his bowling, and that was visible from the first ball that he delivered. In his four overs, he gave just 14 runs and took one wicket that brought Rajasthan Royals back on track after scoring a not-so-impressive 158 runs in their 20 overs.</p>
<p>Overall, Sodhi has picked up 102 wickets in 92 T20s at an average of 23.09 and economy of 7.66.</p>

In January 2018, the International Cricket Council (ICC) named him as the Associate Cricketer of the Year. This year in February, he became the youngest player to top the ICC Player Rankings for bowlers in ODIs. Along with this, he also topped the ICC Player Rankings for bowlers in T20Is.</p>
<p>During the 2018 Cricket World Cup Qualifier, he captained Afghanistan for the first time in an ODI match. And he became the youngest player to captain an international side. Rashid Khan became the youngest bowler to take fastest 100 wickets in ODIs during the final of Cricket World Cup Qualifier against the West Indies. He accomplished this record by playing in just 44 matches to take his 100th dismissal and broke the previous record of 52 games, set by Mitchell Starc.</p>
<p>In IPL auction 2018, Sunrisers Hyderabad used right to match to retain Rashid Khan when he was sold to Kings XI Punjab at a price of nine crores. He has so far taken nine wickets in just seven IPL matches and ranked behind Trent Boult and Mayank Markande who have 11 and ten wickets respectively. In a Twenty20 format that is mainly dominated by hard-hitting batsmen, Rashid Khan has bowled 72 dot balls in 28 overs with an economy of 7.17.</p>
<p>Former Australian batsman Dean Jones has also praised Afghanistan's Rashid Khan by saying that he is currently the best leg-spinner in the world and can spin the balls both ways.</p>

	<p>No one would have expected that the record of fastest fifty in IPL would be so easy to be broken. The Kings XI Punjab opener KL Rahul broke this record in the just second match of IPL 2018. He took 14 balls to score a blistering half-century against Delhi Daredevils in a run-chase. Before that, Sunil Narine playing for Kolkata Knight Riders took 15 shots against Royal Challengers Bangalore in 2017 IPL season to score a fifty. In 2014 IPL season, Yusuf Pathan playing for Kolkata Knight Riders also took 15 shots to score a fifty against Sunrisers Hyderabad.</p>
